When we think about getting our needs met - we are very clear, as adults, on how we would like that to happen. Most of us are able to communicate our needs in a variety of ways.
When we think of infants, they are very good at communicating a need and we are quick to respond to make it better. How do we meet the needs of ever-changing, ever-growing preschool age children? How do we meet them developmentally where they are? A simple acronym can be used to help us remember (credit: ECE at Lethbridge College) to meet the needs of children as we plan and move throughout our day. SPICE~meeting the Social, Physical, Intellectual, Creative & Emotional needs of humans :) I have created a visual for you to see how all these needs work together and what opportunities we can provide to meet them.
